Dr. Grass is a graduate of Oregon Health and Science University, School of Dentistry. Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Grass spent 12 years as a Registered Nurse including 9 years in Hospice care. Dr. Grass grew up in a small town on an island in Alaska where he developed a strong work ethic and a commitment to serving his community. He is a graduate of Oregon Health and Science University, School of Dentistry. Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Grass spent 12 years as a Registered Nurse including 9 years in Hospice care. He excels in clinical dentistry, and his first priority is providing genuine comfort and care to both patients and their families. Dr. Grass and his wife, Lani, are eager to welcome you into their dental family!
Lani Grass
Lani is the accounting and business manager for East City Dental, as well as Dr. Grass’ wife. Lani loves people and so being the business manager is a great opportunity for her to get out in the community and let others know about the comfortable atmosphere at the practice. Her favorite part of the job is watching patient’s reaction after meeting Dr. Grass, who has a great sense of humor. Read More
Lani was raised in Hawaii, but has lived in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska for many years. She is the accounting and business manager for East City Dental, as well as Dr. Grass’ wife. Together they have a daughter and a Chiweenie pup named, Pocho. Lani loves people and so being the business manager is a great opportunity for her to get out in the community and let others know about the comfortable atmosphere at the practice. Her favorite part of the job is watching patient’s reaction after meeting Dr. Grass, who has a great sense of humor. Lani enjoys gardening, and building new relationships. She is excited to be a part of the family here at East City Dental.
Sarah
Dental Assistant
Sarah was born and raised in Portland and has been with our practice for 15 years. Her goal is to make the dental experience as enjoyable as possible for patients. She believes that while our mouths are a relatively small part of our body, it plays such a critical role in our overall health and well-being. She loves being surrounded by coworkers who promote that belief, knowing our patients realize it as well. Read More
Sarah was born and raised in Portland and has been with our practice for 15 years. Her goal is to make the dental experience as enjoyable as possible for patients. She believes that while our mouths are a relatively small part of our body, it plays such a critical role in our overall health and well-being. She finds it gratifying to watch a patient who is arriving with apprehension leave happy and with confidence in our work.
For fun, Sarah plays music in a Celtic folk band, sees movies at cheap old theaters, and looks for new places to eat and drink with friends. She also enjoys hiking, biking, and international travel.

Dental Hygenist
Anna has been practicing Dental Hygiene since graduating from Mt. Hood Community College in 2013. She values each unique collaboration with her patients, and hopes to reassure them against common dental anxieties to ultimately achieve their optimum oral health and brightest smile. Read More
Anna has been practicing Dental Hygiene since graduating from Mt. Hood Community College in 2013. She values each unique collaboration with her patients, and hopes to reassure them against common dental anxieties to ultimately achieve their optimum oral health and brightest smile. Anna was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Portland, Oregon. She’s been with our practice for over 8 years. In her spare time, Anna enjoys music, reading, traveling, and spending time with her big, fun Romanian family.
